Crystal will live stream the keel-laying ceremony for the Crystal Endeavor next week. The first yacht in the Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises fleet is under construction at MV WERFTEN’s Stralsund shipyard in Germany.
The live stream on the Crystal CruisesFacebook page takes place on Tuesday, August 21 at noon, CEST (Central European Summer Time).
Guests attending the shipyard ceremony include will include Crystal President and CEO Tom Wolber, Genting Hong Kong's Executive Chairman and CEO Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, MV WERFTEN President and CEO Peter Fetten and Western Pomerania’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will attend the event in her capacity as a member of the German Bundestag.
If viewers cannot watch the ceremony live, the video will be available on the Crystal Cruises Facebook page following the broadcast.
The Crystal Endeavor will accommodate 200 guests. Features include a full-service spa and salon, six restaurants including Nobu Matsuhisa’s Umi Uma, expedition rooms and expansive suites featuring butler service. Suites include king-sized beds, walk-in closets; heated storage for drying parkas; dual vanities; heated bathroom floors and rain-showerheads.
Crystal Endeavor’s inaugural season takes place from August of 2020 through January 2021. She’ll sail voyages ranging from 12 to 22 days to destinations that include Japan and the Russian Far East; Indonesia, Borneo and the Philippines; New Zealand and Tasmania; Australia and the Great Barrier Reef and Antarctica via the Ross Sea.
