It will soon take just 11 hours and 35 minutes to get from Boston to Honolulu, thanks to Hawaiian Airlines' new non-stop route. It isn't the world's longest flight (Qantas's Perth-London route has it beat by another six hours) but it will be the longest regularly scheduled domestic route in the U.S. when it kicks off this spring, according to the airline.
On April 4—just as Boston's long winter begins to break—Hawaiian Airlines will start this more-than-5,000-mile non-stop flight five days a week to Honolulu. Flights to Honolulu will depart Friday through Tuesday at 8:55 a.m. except for Friday flights, which take-off at 8 a.m. The flights arrive in Hawaii at 2:35 p.m. (Friday flights at 1:40 p.m.). Coming the other direction, flights leave Honolulu Thursday through Monday at 1:45 p.m., and are scheduled to reach the Boston gate at 6 a.m.
If you're already thinking, "Wow, the sand after all of that snow sounds pretty nice," you're in luck: if you book before this Sunday, September 16, you can snag round-trip flights as low as $617 in economy for travel between April 4 and 30. That's cheaper than most one-stop flights available right now. (Those first class seats are available for $1,776, too.) Just head to Hawaiian's site to take advantage of the deal.
