Fear of mysterious packages is heightened as of late after a Florida man mailed explosive packages to President Obama and Hillary Clinton last week.
So, it comes to no surprise that Atlanta police and fire departments took a mysterious package at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport seriously on Sunday morning
The police department’s bomb unit was called to the scene to examine a mysterious package outside of the terminal, spokeswoman Officer Stephanie Brown said in a statement.
After a thorough investigation, the ‘suspicious package’ was discovered to be comprised of two flashlights and a weather radio.
Around noon the investigation wrapped up.
The airport’s operations were not interrupted as the traffic was diverted to the departures level during the examination by police.
Everything is currently back to normal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
This airport scare comes soon after TSA discovered a loaded pistol in the carry-on suitcase of a Sun Country Airlines pilot at the Southwest Florida International Airport.
