After the impact of Hurricane Willa on the west coast of Mexico, officials from the Mazatlan Tourism Board revealed Wednesday the popular tourist hotspot is up and running with no damage.

Thanks in part to the weakened nature of the storm when it made landfall and the preparedness of both local and federal agencies, all services to residences, resorts and hotels remain intact, including water, electricity, and communications.

Local reports are calling for balmy weather Thursday.

Mazatlan was only hit with moderate wind and rainfall from Willa, leaving the tourism infrastructure unscathed. The city’s airport, General Rafael Buelna International, reopened to flights Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. local time.

While the popular resort town was left unharmed by the storm, several other seaside communities in Mexico are still without power and communications. Travelers are being advised to contact their travel agents if scheduled to visit the impacted areas.
