The Creators of the World's First Beer Hotel Are Launching the World's First Craft Beer Airline

By Talia Avakian, Travel + Leisure

The makers of the world’s first beer hotel are now launching the "world’s first craft beer airline."

Independent craft brewer BrewDog, which is already noted for its brew-centric properties that include The DogHouse hotel in Ohio, is launching beer themed flights to its property in February of 2019.

The flight, which is being trialed and could be extended to later periods should there be enough demand, will take off on Feb. 21, flying passengers between London and The DogHouse’s location in Columbus.

The round-trip flight will be operated on a Boeing 767 and will include perks for beer lovers that range from tastings of limited-edition brews made by BrewDog’s team to combat the change in taste and smell that can occur in higher altitudes onboard aircraft, and food and beer pairings.

Passengers will also be able to enjoy onboard cocktails and amenity kits that come with eye masks and blankets before landing in Columbus to enjoy a four-night stay in a downtown Columbus hotel.

For a supplement, guests can also stay at BrewDog’s The Doghouse, which offers in-room taps, shower mini fridges stocked with beers, and beer-infused spa treatments.

During their stay in Columbus, guests will also tour BrewDog’s brewery, hotel, and beer museum before heading to tours of local breweries, bars, and restaurant tours in Columbus and Cincinnati.

The round-trip flight, which takes place from Feb. 21 through Feb. 25 is only open to BrewDog Equity Punks, which requires a minimum investment of $50 in return for a share in the company.

While the enrollment period for UK candidates has closed, US candidates can still become an Equity Punk, which also includes benefits like first access to limited-edition beers, discounts at bars, discounts on hotel stays, free brewery tours and participation in determining future brews.

The flight is priced at about $1,605 per person, with the price including all flights, excursion, and accommodation costs. Five lucky winners can also score a free seat on the flight by checking out the company’s social media competition.
